Fairies tall = your thing ÷ one fairy. A 4-inch fairy is a third of a foot, so an 8-foot grizzly is 8 ÷ ⅓ = 24 fairies. That's the whole trick, and it works on anything. Try it on paper before you tap.
Every answer here assumes a 4-inch fairy. Fairy field reports put them at 4 to 6 inches, so I'm using the small end. Still provisional: Bumblewood Thicket's builders make real doors for real fairies, and when the village opens at Glen Lake Rotary Park (September 10–27), I'm going to measure them and update this number. If the fairies turn out taller, every answer on this page changes at once. That's how ratios work, and that's the fun of it.
